ComfyUI Manager (by Dr. Lt. Data, now part of the Comfy Org) adds a Manager button to the toolbar. From there you can browse the custom node registry, install packs with one click, update ComfyUI and all packs, try to fix import failures (Try Fix reinstalls dependencies), install missing custom nodes detected in a loaded workflow, and download models into the right folders. Snapshots record the exact set of packs and commits so a working setup can be restored.
It also manages the security level for installs, the channel (default, dev, forked) and offers "Install via Git URL" for packs not in the registry. The desktop app and the portable build ship with it; manual installs clone it into custom_nodes. Most "missing node" problems in shared workflows are solved by Manager > Install Missing Custom Nodes followed by a restart.

  3. Use Update All now and then; keep ComfyUI itself updated first.
  4. Use Model Manager to download common models (VAE, upscalers, ControlNets) into the right folders.
  5. Save a Snapshot once everything works, so you can roll back after a broken update.

  • The console log on startup lists packs that failed to import and why.
  • Security level "normal" blocks some installs by URL; set it in the Manager config only if you know the source.

  • Snapshot before any big update; restore from Snapshot Manager if a pack breaks.
