Overview

Realistic Vision is the best-known photorealistic
Stable Diffusion 1.5
checkpoint
, and this is its 5.1
inpainting
variant with the VAE baked in. Inpainting checkpoints receive the image and mask as inputs, so filled areas match the lighting, grain and color of the original photo.
Use it to fix hands, swap clothing, remove objects or extend a background in any realistic SD 1.5 image.

Reference

Name
Type
What it is
Mask
region
Cover the area plus a margin; feather the edge.
Denoise
0.5-1.0
0.75 for repairs that keep the shape, 1.0 for new content.
Prompt
text
RAW photo, then the masked content, then lighting and lens words to match the original.
Negative prompt
text
The Realistic Vision standard: deformed, blurry, bad anatomy, disfigured, poorly drawn face, mutation, extra limb, cloned face, watermark.
CFG
5-7
Lower values keep fills natural.

No install required - run AI models on the cloud
BitVector Prism is the easiest way to start: pick a model, type a prompt and generate in a clean web app, with nothing to configure. BitVector is also available on Discord and on the web (SpyGlass).

Step by step

  1. Mask the region and feather by 8-16 pixels.
  2. Prompt: RAW photo, then what should appear, then the original photo's light and lens (soft window light, 50mm).
  3. Set denoise 0.75,
    CFG
    6, 30 steps, DPM++ SDE Karras.
  4. Enable inpaint at full resolution for faces and hands.
  5. If seams show, widen the mask and lower denoise slightly.

Examples

Fix a face

RAW photo, natural face, soft smile, realistic skin texture, soft window light, 50mm
Face masked, denoise 0.55, inpaint at full resolution

Remove an object

RAW photo, empty wooden table, warm kitchen light
Mask over the object, denoise 1.0, fill latent noise

Creative idea: new background

RAW photo, rainy Tokyo street at night, neon reflections, bokeh
Mask everything except the person, denoise 0.9

Tips

  • Match the grain: add film grain or high ISO noise if the original has it.
  • For object removal, prompt the background that should be there (brick wall, grass), not the object to remove.
  • Face fixes work best with only the face masked and denoise 0.5-0.6.
  • Outpaint by extending the canvas and masking the new area with denoise 1.0.

Troubleshooting

Fill looks sharper or cleaner than the photo

Why it happens
Missing grain and lens words.

How to fix it
Add film grain, slight blur or matching ISO to the prompt and lower CFG to 5.

Color cast on the filled area

Why it happens
Lighting mismatch.

How to fix it
Describe the original light color (warm tungsten, cool daylight) in the prompt.

PirateDiffusion is Telegram only and built for pros: thousands of models, LoRAs and workflows driven by chat commands, with unlimited generation on a fixed price plan.

Questions

Can it generate from scratch?

Yes, but regular Realistic Vision 5.1 is better for that.

Does it work with SD 1.5 LoRAs?

Yes, including character
LoRAs
for face swaps.
