ComfyUI Manager node in ComfyUI
ComfyUI Manager is the extension that installs, updates and fixes custom node packs and models from inside the interface, resolves missing nodes in imported workflows and snapshots your setup.
Node pack: ComfyUI-Manager
Category: Popular custom node packs
What ComfyUI Manager does
ComfyUI Manager (by Dr. Lt. Data, now part of the Comfy Org) adds a Manager button to the toolbar. From there you can browse the custom node registry, install packs with one click, update ComfyUI and all packs, try to fix import failures (Try Fix reinstalls dependencies), install missing custom nodes detected in a loaded workflow, and download models into the right folders. Snapshots record the exact set of packs and commits so a working setup can be restored.
It also manages the security level for installs, the channel (default, dev, forked) and offers "Install via Git URL" for packs not in the registry. The desktop app and the portable build ship with it; manual installs clone it into custom_nodes. Most "missing node" problems in shared workflows are solved by Manager > Install Missing Custom Nodes followed by a restart.

Skip the setup: ComfyUI workflows preinstalled on the cloud
BitVector runs ready-made ComfyUI workflows on its own GPUs. No install, no missing nodes, no red boxes. Open it on your phone or laptop and generate in a minute.
How to use ComfyUI Manager
- If the Manager button is missing, clone github.com/Comfy-Org/ComfyUI-Manager into ComfyUI/custom_nodes and restart.
- Open a shared workflow; red nodes mean missing packs. Click Manager > Install Missing Custom Nodes, install all, restart.
- Use Update All now and then; keep ComfyUI itself updated first.
- Use Model Manager to download common models (VAE, upscalers, ControlNets) into the right folders.
- Save a Snapshot once everything works, so you can roll back after a broken update.
Settings and tips
- After installing packs, a full restart of the server is required, not just a browser refresh.
- The console log on startup lists packs that failed to import and why.
- Security level "normal" blocks some installs by URL; set it in the Manager config only if you know the source.
- The Comfy Registry (registry.comfy.org) is the curated list Manager uses.
- Snapshot before any big update; restore from Snapshot Manager if a pack breaks.
Troubleshooting ComfyUI Manager
Red nodes remain after installing missing nodes
Why it happens
The server was not restarted, the pack failed to import, or the workflow uses a renamed or removed node.
How to fix it
Restart ComfyUI, read the startup log for IMPORT FAILED lines and use Try Fix on that pack. If the node no longer exists, replace it with the current equivalent.
IMPORT FAILED for a pack
Why it happens
A Python dependency is missing or incompatible (common after a PyTorch or Python update).
How to fix it
Manager > Try Fix on the pack; otherwise run the pack's requirements.txt install with the ComfyUI Python (python_embeded on portable).
Manager button missing
Why it happens
Manager is not installed or failed to import; or the new frontend hides it behind the puzzle-piece icon.
How to fix it
Check the toolbar icons; otherwise reinstall Manager by git clone and restart.
Update All broke everything
Why it happens
A pack update depends on a newer ComfyUI, or ComfyUI updated and an old pack is incompatible.
How to fix it
Restore the last Snapshot; update ComfyUI first, then packs one at a time.
This action is not allowed with this security level
Why it happens
Installing from a URL or an unlisted pack is blocked at the default security level.
How to fix it
Edit config.ini in the Manager folder to security_level = weak only for trusted sources, then restart.

Run this workflow from your phone
Every workflow on this page is preinstalled on BitVector with the models and custom nodes already in place. Pick one, type a prompt, done. Zero setup, nothing to download.
Questions about ComfyUI Manager
Is Manager safe?
Installing a pack runs its Python code on your machine. Stick to the registry and well-known authors; check the GitHub page before installing unknown packs.
Where are packs installed?
ComfyUI/custom_nodes/<pack-name>. Deleting the folder removes the pack.
How do I update ComfyUI itself?
Manager > Update ComfyUI, or git pull in the ComfyUI folder; portable builds have update .bat files.

FaceDetailer (Impact Pack)
ComfyUI-Impact-Pack
FaceDetailer finds faces (or hands, eyes) with a YOLO detector, crops each one, re-renders it at full resolution with your model and prompt, and pastes it back, fixing the small, mushy faces in wide shots.
Ultimate SD Upscale
ComfyUI_UltimateSDUpscale
Ultimate SD Upscale enlarges a picture with an ESRGAN model, then re-samples it tile by tile through the diffusion model with your prompt at low denoise, adding real detail at 2x-4x without running out of VRAM.
Video Combine (VideoHelperSuite)
ComfyUI-VideoHelperSuite
Video Combine turns an IMAGE batch of frames into an MP4, WebM, GIF or image sequence at a chosen frame rate, with optional audio, loop count and ping-pong, the standard output node for every video workflow.
Power Lora Loader (rgthree)
rgthree-comfy
Power Lora Loader stacks any number of LoRAs in one node with per-row toggles and strengths, replacing chains of Load LoRA nodes; the rgthree pack also adds Fast Groups Bypasser, Context nodes and the Image Comparer.
Efficient Loader and KSampler (Efficient)
efficiency-nodes-comfyui
Efficient Loader combines checkpoint, VAE, LoRA stack, both prompts and the empty latent into one node, and KSampler (Efficient) adds live previews, a built-in VAE decode and XY Plot support for comparing settings.

Tired of fixing nodes? Let the cloud do it
BitVector keeps hundreds of ComfyUI workflows installed, updated and tested on fast cloud GPUs. No Python, no CUDA errors, no VRAM limits. Works from any browser.
More ComfyUI nodes
CLIP Text Encode (Prompt)
ComfyUI core
CLIP Text Encode turns a text prompt into CONDITIONING using the model text encoder. One node holds the positive prompt, a second one the negative prompt.
KSampler
ComfyUI core
KSampler runs the denoising loop: it takes the model, prompts and a latent and produces the finished latent image, controlled by seed, steps, cfg, sampler, scheduler and denoise.
Load Checkpoint
ComfyUI core
Load Checkpoint (CheckpointLoaderSimple) opens a .safetensors or .ckpt model file and hands out the three parts every workflow needs: the diffusion MODEL, the CLIP text encoder and the VAE.
Save Image
ComfyUI core
Save Image writes the IMAGE tensor to ComfyUI/output as a PNG, with the whole workflow embedded in the file metadata so the picture can be dragged back into ComfyUI to restore the graph.
VAE Decode
ComfyUI core
VAE Decode converts the sampled LATENT into a pixel IMAGE with the VAE; VAE Decode (Tiled) does the same in tiles for very large images.
Empty Latent Image
ComfyUI core
Empty Latent Image creates the blank latent canvas (width, height, batch_size) that text-to-image sampling starts from; dimensions must be multiples of 8 and match the model family.
