buscema style. A lone barbarian woman crouches low on a high rocky cliff edge against a white background, her body coiled in a tense ready stance as she peers downward over the precipice at something unseen below. She balances on the balls of her feet with one knee bent up near her chest and the other leg extended back for stability, one hand gripping the rock edge for balance and the other resting on the hilt of a long curved scimitar sheathed at her hip. Her head is turned in profile, sharp eyes narrowed with predatory focus, mouth set in a hard line. Her face is striking and angular with high cheekbones, a strong jaw, and full lips. Long black hair falls in heavy windswept waves down her back, several thick strands whipping forward across her shoulder and face as if caught in a sudden updraft from the cliff below. Her body is athletically muscled — defined shoulders and back, lean strong arms with visible tendon-and-vein detail at the gripping hand, a tight muscled torso, powerful thighs and calves. The cliff edge beneath her is rendered as a massive jagged rock outcrop, the stone surface broken into angular planes with deep cracks and weathered chips. The cliff drops away abruptly past her, the empty space below the edge of the frame implied but not shown — only the suggestion of vertiginous depth. Behind and above her in the upper portion of the frame, a single enormous bird of prey wheels in mid-air with wings fully outstretched, a hawk or eagle with broad pinion feathers spread wide, head turned to look down at the cliff edge. Its talons are extended. Tucked into the crags of the rock face below the woman's perch, partially hidden in the deep shadow of an overhang, the silhouette of a coiled serpent is barely visible — a thick scaled body wrapping around itself, only one small reptilian eye and the curve of its body emerging from the darkness, watching her unseen from below.
